Orioles front-office executive Duquette resigns
BALTIMORE (Reuters) - Baltimore Orioles's vice president of baseball operations Jim Duquette resigned on Friday after two seasons with the club.
"I felt it was in the organization's best interest as well as my own to start fresh somewhere else," said Duquette, who had previously worked with the New York Mets for 14 years.
Duquette's responsibilities were reduced when the Orioles hired Andy MacPhail as president of baseball operations in June.
Baltimore was 70-92 and 69-93 during Duquette's tenure with the club, which has not had a winning season since clinching the American League East in 1997.
