Feb 27 - President George W. Bush honored the Boston Red Sox for winning the 2007 World Series, in front of an audience of fans and Boston-area politicians.
The Red Sox took a break from spring training in Florida to fly up to meet with President Bush, just like they did in 2005 after their emotional World Series victory the previous fall. Manager Terry Francona, players, coaches and staff were accompanied by principal owner John Henry, chairman Tom Werner, president/CEO Larry Lucchino and members of the Red Sox's ownership group and front office.
