<media:text type="html">
To fully appreciate this artist's work you're going to need a microscope.

Chen Forng Shean makes miniature sculptures, and this is his latest masterpiece.

Chen claims to have made the world's smallest tiger sculpture, and at one-tenth the size of a grain of rice, it's hard to imagine it being any smaller.

Sitting on top of the eye of a needle, the sculpture is barely visable to the naked eye.

This is Chen's tenth attempt to complete the work.

With the slightest touch able to destroy the piece, Chen has learnt a special way of breathing to help keep a steady hand.

(SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) 54-YEAR-OLD ARTIST CHEN FORNG SHEAN SAYING:

"My job is dealing with very fine things, so I learnt to breathe and hold my breath. With the breathing I can steady my hands and it prevents them from shaking. Now when I take a deep breath I can hold it for 60 seconds, and then I can engrave every stroke with the rhythm of my pulse, and create my works."

The miniature masterpiece was made after three months of intensive labour.

Chen said it was worth around 94,000 U.S. dollars (T$3 million), although it's not for sale.

The sculpture was made ahead of the Chinese lunar Year of the Tiger which starts on February 14.
